Marga arises from our will to understand housing as a core priority: a space not only addressing the residents’ needs, but also their values.

The project aims to build sustainable private households.

A new housing development that is supported by the concept of life and socialization both indoors as well as interacting with the natural environment as an essential part of the housing.

A new housing development that is supported by the concept of life and socialization both indoors as well as interacting with the natural environment as an essential part of the housing.

Merging the Mediterranean climate and Tarragona’s countryside, Casa Marga aims to move away from the more traditional housing experience to suggest new ways of living. The project contemplates a subtle transition from the private space to a shared space taking advantage of the extensive pine trees and oaks, giving up space to the green surroundings that create organic divisions.

All 55 households are located in Mas de Pallarès (Residencial Cinc Estrelles) and draw from the sustainable building premise following the local architecture. They all adopt renewable energy facilities and use “zero-mile” products and materials.

In Casa Marga, every volume consists of disintegrated boxes creating intimate spaces and corners, and a separation between the day area and night area that constitutes the character of the homes and creating transactional areas between the inside, opening up to the garden and allowing quality family time, and the outside, optimized for the night time and embracing the relaxing down time and stillness of this neighborhood.
The union between the natural environment and the family space is reflected in each house. The openings have been carefully designed to create a smooth transition between the indoor and outdoor space. Consequently, the housing loses its meaning without its surrounding and the user has the decision to what spaces will be open to nature. Moreover, the mediterranean pines will naturally divide the houses.

Carmen, Maria and Leonidas are the three houses of Marga.

Each housing has been developed with the aim to understand the residents’ needs and the surroundings.
Their construction is based on the topography of each site, hence each house is unique adapting to the piece of land.

Recurso 2

In Marga we are using Virtual Reality to create a sensory experience which goes far and beyond the current tools.

Virtual Reality is a simulation of the physical world through a digital space evoking an immersive feeling.

This resource allows you to see the housing indoor spaces as well as the outdoor spaces as if you were onsite. You may observe and explore your future household in detail even before it’s been built.

Recurso 2

Sustainability

Committed to offering new, contemporary ways of living and relating to their surroundings and community, Casa Marga also seeks to establish sustainable practices to meet future environmental challenges.

The materials used in the housing development are locally-sourced, hence we are reducing our greenhouse gasses footprint.

In addition, the volumes have been strategically oriented so that it’s easier to capture natural light and heat, which are essential factors in stabilizing the temperatures and keeping the house’s energy demand low.

Each house integrates self-consumption systems, and during the day, the energy produced is 100% renewable. Therefore, the demand is covered with green energy. If AC is not needed, the energy produced is allocated towards the general energy consumption.

The development also collects and stores rainwater in an underground tank, which can be used according to the user’s preferences; the first step toward energy self-sufficiency.

We’re striving towards energy self-sufficiency.

About us

Servidel (www.servidel.net) is located in Deltebre. We are a local family business specialized in public work projects since 1993, as well as the maintenance of big facilities around Catalonia, Spain. Our work is precise, substantial and remarkable with a big influence in the environment and society.

From its Founder, Joan G., we keep its perseverance, rigor, humility and simplicity. From this, our project stands out in a saturated market for three decades sticking to our pillars: commitment, dedication and trust.

Organically, his daughter Jèssica G. (Management and Partner) and his sons Joan Carles G. (Technical Director and Partner) and Sergi G. (Creative Director and Partner) joined this project.

As a family business, we have evolved as the market and the world has been adapting. As time goes by, we are more committed to sustainability, social return and equality within the company.

The whole world is transforming and we as a company are aware of the need for an extra step along the way. To all our expertise in civil construction and housing development, we add the freshness of new generations, and then… Marga is born from our will to understand the house as a principle.

Kind spaces connected to the outdoors, sustainable and healthy, polyvalent and addressing both the residents’ needs and their values.

Our Philosophy

Our Philosophy

Each project is unique. What makes us different is the fact we are in charge of all the steps of each project,

but at the same time we have multiple ways of implementation.
We are flexible, versatile and open-minded to collaborating with other professionals, looking for those who fit our values and help us shape our concept.

Always keeping in mind the following principles:

Always keeping in mind the following principles:

ACTIVE LISTENING

The same way people have necessities, also has the environment and society. Actively listening we connect with those and manage to rearrange our work. We do not live isolated, but we live in a community and we want to take care of our surroundings.

ORGANIC DESIGN

Design adapts to all aforementioned necessities looking for efficient solutions with unique features. The challenge here is to unify beauty, functionally, adaptation to our landscape and keeping sustainability a priority.

NATURAL ARCHITECTURE

Sustainability is key. Each environment has some genuine characteristics, a specific climate and topography, and biodiversity,… We are inspired by a mix of these, working with local raw materials with the aim to avoid being disruptive.

TIMELESS

When design is in play, innovation is also key. However, we look for a balance between the new and the timeless. We strive for design that will remain in time.

HAPPINESS

Far from being an utopia, our mission is to create spaces from scratch to fill them up with live and experiences. When imagining, designing and building a house, we keep in mind a user will be living in it. Therefore, we want to facilitate social moments with movement as well as intimate and relaxing ones.
This housing will not secure happiness, but for sure will facilitate it.
